The Mediona race is the first of the five races that make up the Scott Marathon Cup. The cup’s format means it can be disputed in two different forms: the XCM, with a distance of over 60 kilometres, and/or the XCC, spanning approximately 35 kilometres. It is also possible to participate in the Open category (non-competitive), for both the XCC and the XCM.

The event is perfect for enjoying and discovering new routes in the area of the Serra de Mediona, Serra dels Esgavellats, Serra d’Orpinell and Sant Pere Sacarrera, a mountain bike paradise. There’s no better occasion to start off the season and enjoy mountain biking on an ideal terrain.

If you are looking for long distances and to spend as much time as possible on your mountain bike, the Scott Marathon Cup’s XCM track is the option for you. The race spans 63 kilometres on a track shaped like a figure 8, allowing rides to pass through the finish area again and facilitating the attendance of bikers, approximately halfway along the course.

All you have to do is keep your strength up, which you can do on the XCM track at the six refreshment stations (at kilometres 7, 18, 28, 36, 47 and 54), while on the XCC track you won’t be lacking with its three refreshment stations (the first 3 of the XCM version). At the end of the race you can enjoy a well-deserved final barbecue and a perfect atmosphere for swapping stories from a great day of mountain biking.

What’s more, you’ll be able to share your experiences with bikers of all levels, from top-level competitors to beginners, all united by their passion for mountain biking, as well as a good old barbecue, which no one should miss.
